Knoxville is fortunate to have many great businesses that offer classes in a wide variety of arts and crafts. From beginners to the more advanced, anyone with an interest in learning skills from painting to pottery to sculpting can attend these informative classes. Here is just a small sampling of the classes available around town:

Mighty Mud: Located at 1300 McCalla Avenue near the Old City, this unique store offers many fun and informative pottery workshops including beginning and intermediate wheel, large scale sculpting, beginning wheel throwing, and handbuilding.

Classes last about 6 weeks and are taught by artist from a variety of backgrounds. Anyone ages 14 and up are welcome to attend. Painting with a Twist: Located at 121 South Gay Street in downtown Knoxville and 10932 Murdock drive in West Knoxville is a lively, entertaining way to paint. Their idea is to promote individual works of art while having fun with friends, wine, and a great instructor.

Knoxville Arts and Fine Craft Center: Located at 11727B Broadway Avenue in North Knoxville has an abundance of adult classes for any skill level such as pottery, painting, basket weaving, sculpting, and more.

They also offer classes for youth ages 6-13 and preschool classes for ages 3-6 as well. Host a party for your child and they will provide decorations and banner and the craft of your choice. For adults, jewelry making, sculpting with clay or other interesting workshops can be chosen for a private class.
